Ephesians 2:1-10
“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God.”
Ephesians 2:8
Some of my favorite TV shows to watch are the ones about home renovations. I’m always amazed by the “before” and “after” results. The change is so dramatic that you can’t recognize the space, because the transformation reveals a brand new creation.
This is similar to what God does in our lives when we accept His gift of grace. He brings out of the darkness and into the light. And it is only by God’s mercy, love, and grace that we are transformed from spiritual death to spiritual life.
In his letter to the Ephesians, Paul is trying to convey God’s love and true transformative power in their spiritual lives. He sent His Son Jesus to die for our sins. Salvation is the gift of God, received by grace through faith—God’s gift to you and me. We are God’s creation, and we are His masterpiece!
Prayer:
Dear God, please give me guidance today on how it is best to use my time, efforts, and talents. Work in my heart, help me walk the path where you guide me, and let my actions reflect your love. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
