How Is Plastic Harming Our Bodies and Our Oceans?
It is estimated that the average person consumes approximately 5 grams of plastic every week, which is the amount found in a credit card.

Ashley Morgan, DVM, MPH-VPH, studied Marine Biology in college and became fascinated with different animals’ complex physiologic responses to nature. This made for an easy transition to veterinary school, where she also obtained her Master's in Public Health. She wanted to understand not only the complex systems within animals, but also those that link their bodies with their surrounding environment and the humans sharing the space. She is currently pursuing her PhD in Integrative Biology and is conducting research on the health impacts of an anthropogenic environmental pollutant (plastic).
Ashley grew up in Tennessee and developed a love for wildlife and the great outdoors. She now lives in South Florida, where the wildlife and environment is very different, but her love for it is not.
